From 2014 to 2019 Sharon was president of the Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester. She was the sixth woman to hold the role and oversaw a period of modernisation of the organisation and a change in constitution. In 2017 Sharon was awarded a British Empire Medal for her community work.
